Safety and Compliance
This scaffolding type is used when there is no hard firm ground to support the standards when the construction is in the upper parts of a multi-story building, and in cases where the construction work is done at great heights on a multi-storied building.
Cantilever scaffolding is a separate scaffold constructed to angle out from a building. Using a cantilever style eliminates the requirement for works to commence from the ground, but rather from the top and up.
Drop scaffolds follow similar principles, but instead begin at the top and work down the building, again negating any need for the scaffold structure to be built from the ground
The Process
Cantilever scaffolding consists of the scaffolding structure, supported via the succession of needles or beams, utilising the roof structure or adequate balconies/penetrations to support the fulcrum loads. This can be achieved by fixing to the structure or by use of counterweights.
