The Marriott
Overview
As a company, we were thrilled to work with an established global brand like The Marriott down the Gold Coast. In this particular project, we were collaborating with Shape, as they were looking to update and renovate the internal fit-out on the tenth floor.
The Approach
The project was time-sensitive, and we had to ensure all contracted parties could operate safely, and with little disruption to the hotel guests and employees. To do that, we created a cantilever set up off the balcony and created a bridge between the cantilevers.
This scaffolding type is used when there is no hard firm ground to support the standards when the construction is in the upper parts of a multi-story building. And in cases where the construction work is done at great heights on a multi-storied building.
The Process
Cantilever scaffolding is a separate scaffold constructed to angle out from a building. Using a cantilever style eliminates the requirement for poles and frames to be erected in front of a structure, as such cantilever scaffolds are usually sited near balconies for access.
Additionally, as we were over 100 metres in the air, we had to ensure there were adequate rescue plans and procedures in place to keep staff compliant and safe.
